From October 2012 new EU directives come into force which require all new trailers to be fitted with a reverse lamp. These may be wired using 12n/12S 7 pin plug and sockets or the single 13pin plug and socket. During 2012 Ifor Williams trailers will migrate to having the reversing lamp fitted as standard along with the 13 pin plug.

To allow trailers fitted with 13pin plug to be used on vehicles which have the 7 pin socket, an adaptor is required. This adaptor is available under the Ifor Williams part number P06625-7-13 or the Maypole part no MP600, allowing the 13 pin plug to be connected to a towing vehicle with a 7 pin socket.
