New Ifor Williams HBX/HBE Horse Trailers
As part of their 60th anniversary celebrations Ifor Williams officially opened their new £5 million factory at Sandycroft, Flintshire. They surprised everyone by unveiling 2 exciting new horse trailer ranges, the HBX and the HBE ranges.
The new aluminium body of the flagship HBX trailer makes it stronger, very lightweight and so a lot easier to tow. It has lots of new features including the latest innovation, the ability to add an awning for either day use or overnight night sleeping. The HBX trailer range can carry 2 horses up to 17.2hh and has a gross weight of 2.5 for the HBX506 and 2 horses up to 16.2hh and a gross weight of 2.7 tonnes for the HBX511.
The HBE aims at the European market and doesn't have a front window or front unload ramp as is standard practice in Europe. Also, instead of having opening doors above the rear ramp the HBE makes use of a roller blind which is ventilated with a breathable fabric. The HBE horse trailer is also lighter than the HBX trailer and can carry up to 2 tonnes.
Both ranges have been subjected to the usual rigorous testing that Ifor Williams put their trailers through and orders can now be taken, the first deliveries hopefully being before the New Year.
